Voice of the Martyrs (Australia) is a Christian ministry supporting persecuted Christians worldwide — helping them stay firm in faith, and equipping them to keep sharing the Gospel in some of the hardest places on earth. Our small, close-knit team in Penrith works behind the scenes so that support reaches the field reliably and with integrity.

We're looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our finance team on a part-time basis (15 hours per week, based in our Penrith office). You'll work closely with our Financial Controller processing transactions, managing supplier invoices and payments, and keeping accurate records that support our reporting and audit requirements.

• Has solid bookkeeping or accounts experience and genuine attention to detail
• Takes ownership of accuracy and follow-through — this is a role built on trust

• Is comfortable working as part of a small, collaborative finance team

What you'll be doing:

• Processing and recording financial transactions and allocating them to the correct accounts and cost centres
• Managing supplier invoices, payment preparation, and accounts payable follow-up
• Recording daily income and receipts, and supporting financial reporting
• Maintaining records to support reconciliation and audit

What you'll need:

• Solid bookkeeping or accounts experience, ideally with Xero
• Genuine attention to detail and follow-through

This is an on-site role based in our Penrith office — please only apply if you're able to work from our office each week.

Hours: 15 hours per week (2 days), 12-month fixed-term contract, with a view to this becoming a more permanent role. Potential for hours to grow to 22.5 hours (3 days) for the right candidate — if you'd prefer 3 days, let us know in your application.
