Hawkesbury Valley Baptist Church (HVBC) is a healthy and growing church on the northwestern fringe of the Sydney Metropolitan area. We are seeking a suitable candidate for the dual-role of School Chaplain and Next Generation Ministry Worker, for a late-January 2027 commencement.

The role consists of school chaplaincy in two local schools (one primary school and one high school), plus some additional hours working alongside our Student Pastor who oversees our children’s and youth ministries.

• School Chaplaincy: 6 to 10 hours per school week for each school (12-20 hours per week total)
• Next Generation Ministry Worker: 4 to 8 hours per week

We are able to tailor the number of hours within those ranges to the successful applicant, based on any other life, work or study commitments.

Essential criteria:

• A passionate and mature disciple of Jesus
• Alignment with the mission, values and vision of HVBC (www.hvbc.org.au/about)
• Minimum Cert. IV in Chaplaincy or Pastoral Care (or a similar field of study)
• Experience in paid or voluntary leadership in children’s and/or youth ministry
• A valid Working with Children’s Check plus all other Safe Church requirements (including a National Police Check)
