About the role

Your new role in an energetic Christian movement that seeks to outreach to children, young people and families awaits you. In your new role, you will lay the foundations for building a Human Resources career by building on your administrative expertise. As the first point of contact for job candidates and SU staff needing to engage with the People Services team, your excellent interpersonal skills will help you shine through with your friendly and approachable manner. You will be responsible for preparing employment contracts, administering employment changes, and maintaining records for Working with Children Checks and National Police Checks. Your interest in learning and using HR systems will help our team in continuously evolving our contemporary HR practices.

This role requires someone who is systems-oriented, self-motivated, has excellent attention to detail, and enjoys working both in a team environment and autonomously. This role is a full-time position and can be done anywhere in Australia, provided that a capital city is within driving distance.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualifications in Business, Human Resources (or equivalent) are desirable (or progress towards these)
  • Minimum 12 months experience in an administrative role
  • Foundation skills with an HRIS or payroll system is preferred (particularly Aurion and/or MartianLogic) and interest in building skills in HR systems
  • High Level written communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills in a professional environment
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace programs
