Contract: Initial 1-year, part-time casual with flexible hours

The Australian Society for Indigenous Languages, a partner of Wycliffe Bible Translators Australia, is seeking a dedicated Office Manager to oversee our Darwin office and manage our small bookshop. This role offers a flexible work schedule and the opportunity to tailor responsibilities to suit your strengths and interests.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Respond to phone and email inquiries
  • Collect and handle mail
  • Oversee bookshop operations including sales and purchases, stock and data management, reordering and printing resources, organise bookshop displays and storage
  • Organise off-site book/information stalls
  • Manage publicity through various channels (emails, Facebook, newsletters, in-person)
  • Handle general administration tasks and support staff with program needs
  • Provide basic IT support, such as setting up new laptops
  • Assist with event management, grant applications, and project reports
  • Process simple financial data
  • Keep office tidy/clean, purchase office supplies, and liaise with the landlord
  • Banking
  • Coordinate transport /accommodation
  • Maintain website and online platforms
  • Maintain physical and virtual library

Desirable Skills:

  • Passion for Bible translation
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong computer and administrative skills
  • Good with numbers
  • Positivity in assisting others and building relationships
  • Willingness to undertake cross-cultural training
  • Available 15 hours per week, Monday – Friday (flexible)
