Rector

Job Description

Seeking a full-time Rector to lead its congregations in worship, mission and service, and to help the Parish grow alongside its communities....

Set among the green hills of South Gippsland and within commuting distance of Melbourne, Korumburra and Poowong are growing communities, with new housing developments and increasing numbers of people choosing to live and work locally.

The Anglican Church has been ministering in both communities for more than 100 years. St Paul’s, Korumburra and All Saints, Poowong are both well maintained, and a newly renovated brick rectory is located next to St Paul’s and the Anglican Hall in Korumburra.

The congregations are warm, welcoming and keen to see the growth of their towns reflected in the life and mission of the Parish. A dedicated and energetic group of lay leaders and church members is actively involved in worship, ministry and outreach.

Some within our communities face financial and social pressures, and over the years the Parish has developed ministries to support people in need. There is an opportunity for these ministries, along with the Parish’s broader engagement with the community, to grow further under the leadership of a new Rector.

We’re looking for a priest of the Anglican Church of Australia, or someone eligible to be licensed within it, with a heart for pastoral care, community engagement, mission and growth. The successful applicant will be required to complete the Diocese’s safe ministry screening requirements and hold a current Working with Children Check.

We offer a stipend in accordance with the Diocese of Gippsland scale, together with a rectory, allowances and superannuation. Further details about stipend, allowances and clergy conditions are available here: Administrative Circular 2026
