JOB PROFILE:

Title: Campus Pastor (Kelvin Grove Campus)

Reports to: Senior Pastor

Start Date: January 4th 2027

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Village church Kelvin Grove Campus pastor will have responsibility for:

• Overseeing the Kelvin Grove morning congregation and moving towards starting another congregation also in Kelvin Grove.
• Leading the staff (including 1-2 direct reports), trainees, leaders and volunteers who are involved in ministry in Kelvin Grove, continuing a culture where people can experience ministry in a supportive environment, encouraging and supporting lay-leadership and training.
• Coordinating serving teams, livestream teams, music & sound teams and other aspects of church services held in Kelvin Grove as required.
• Leading and developing the welcoming strategy and its implementation across Village Church Kelvin Grove.
• Coordinating, with support of other staff and volunteers, the annual Kelvin Grove community Carols & Markets.
• Together with the Lead Pastor, taking responsibility for the pastoral care and spiritual well-being and growth of Village Church congregants in Kelvin Grove.
• Coaching, supporting and supervising the Youth Ministry leadership.
• Coaching, supporting and supervising the Children’s Ministry Worker to develop and grow the Children’s Ministry at Village Church.
• Supporting the volunteer teams for the community ministries in Kelvin Grove including the Pop-in Cafe and Wednesday Night Meals.
• Coordinating Village Church’s training academy, Village Academy, to deepen Village Church members theological understanding and love for God, His people, and the lost.
• Together with the Spring Hill Campus Pastor, leading marriage prep and baptism classes as required.
• Being a regular preacher across Village Church services in Kelvin Grove and Spring Hill.
• Being a willing and supportive member of the Senior Village Church Staff team, actively working towards the health & vitality of Village Church as a whole, including other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time.

PERSONAL QUALITIES
The successful applicant will:

▪ Be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, who can clearly explain the gospel to others.
▪ Be a seasoned, faithful, gracious & engaging bible-teacher for our Sunday meetings and other contexts where we open God’s Word.
▪ Have 5+ years’ experience in leading church ministry, with a desire to create frameworks that foster structure, growth and support.
▪ Display a commitment to proactively see each member of the church become mature in ChristJesus.
▪ Demonstrate leadership and gifts together with an attitude of service.
▪ Be able to work well within an existing ministry team.
▪ Be prepared to understand our ministry philosophy, working within the theological framework provided by the Westminster Confession of Faith.
▪ Have successfully undertaken theological training at a recognised theological College.

▪ The ability to work as part of a ministry team.
▪ Creativity and a sense of fun in approaching ministry.
▪ Willingness to take initiative.
▪ A warm, approachable personality.
▪ If married, a supportive spouse who is enthusiastic about ministry, and committed to the vision and values implicit in the role.

CHILD PROTECTION:

Village Church has a strong child protection policy. Candidates for the position will be expected to:

▪ hold or obtain a Queensland Government “Working with Children Suitability Card”, which involves appropriate background checks; and
▪ complete or have completed mandatory “Childsafe” training (organised through PCQ)
