Shape how ACL speaks to the nation
You know how the power of a truthful story, crafted with the right words, at the right moment, can move an audience to action. We're looking for a sharp writer and editor to take the lead on ACL’s content and owned communication channels that carry Christianity’s voice into the public square.
About us
The vision of the Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) is to see Christian principles and ethics influencing the way we are governed, do business, and relate to each other as a community.
With over 250,000 supporters Australia-wide, ACL facilitates professional engagement and dialogue between the Christian constituency and government, amplifying the voice of Christianity in the public square. ACL is neither party-partisan nor denominationally aligned, bringing a Christian perspective to policy in Federal, State and Territory Parliaments.
The role
Reporting to the Communications and Campaigns Director, you'll lead the development and management of ACL's owned communication channels and the content that influences national and state audiences. Your purpose is to amplify the clarity, reach and impact of ACL's public voice, and to ensure the way we communicate externally achieves tangible outcomes aligned to our vision, mission and strategic objectives.
As ACL's senior editor, you'll draw on your core skills in writing and editing to craft compelling communications across EDMs, blogs, website content and campaign copy, while upholding a consistent voice, factual rigour and quality control across everything we publish. You'll also lead and manage ACL's Social Media Specialist.
This is a hands-on role that calls for deliberate strategic and tactical thinking to deliver both pre-planned and rapid-response communications in a fast-paced, dynamic external environment.
