Are you hands-on, reliable, and looking for meaningful seasonal work? Samaritan's Purse Australia is seeking OCC Warehouse Assistants x2 to join our Operation Christmas Child (OCC) team ahead of our busiest season of the year — helping ensure thousands of shoeboxes filled with gifts reach children in need around the world.

About the Role
This is a short-term contract position starting at 20 hours per week in September, increasing to near full-time from early October through mid-December as we move into peak shoebox collection and processing season.
You'll play a hands-on role in our warehouse operations, working alongside a dedicated team of staff and volunteers to receive, organise, and prepare shoeboxes for shipping to children around the world.

What You'll Be Doing
• Assisting with the unloading and inspection of incoming deliveries
• Operating forklifts and pallet jacks in line with safety protocols
• Organising, storing, and maintaining inventory with proper labelling
• Supporting the team with daily warehouse tasks, including loading/unloading trucks and packing shoeboxes into outer cartons
• Loading cartons into containers ready for shipping
• Helping implement health and safety requirements across OCC and SPA project activities
• Participating in safety inspections and Tool Time talks as required

Selection Criteria
• A committed personal relationship with Jesus and alignment with Christian values — all employees are called to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through their work as part of Samaritan's Purse's mission
• Previous warehouse experience
• Experience supporting operational systems and logistics functions
• A good level of physical fitness — this role involves manual handling and lifting (up to 25kg), including lifting above shoulder height
• A forklift licence (desirable)
• A First Aid Certificate is a plus, or willingness to obtain one
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• The ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• A track record of getting results within agreed timeframes and supporting/guiding others

Working Conditions
This role is based in a warehouse environment. During peak season, you may work alongside up to 150 other staff and volunteers, with shifts of up to six days a week and up to twelve-hour days. Evening and weekend work may be required as workload demands. The role involves regular standing, walking, reaching, bending, and occasional lifting of items up to 25kg.
