Provide leadership, quality pastoral care, and discipleship growth to the young adults and families of CityLife Church Manningham in conjunction with other pastoral staff and in conjunction with the Young Adults Ministry Champion.......

CityLife Manningham is seeking a self-motivated, energetic and passionate person who has vision to see the Young Adults and families of the Manningham congregation continue to grow, connect and be fervent followers of Christ.

Young Adults are understood to include those aged between 18 and 30, whereas families are understood primarily to include parents of Pre School- and School-aged children and their discipleship needs. Families for which this role is primarily responsible will be assigned in consultation with the Network Pastor and the Lead Pastor. Other adults may sometimes be assigned as a part of the role.

This role will primarily provide leadership, quality pastoral care, and discipleship growth to the young adults and families of CityLife Church Manningham in conjunction with other pastoral staff and in conjunction with the Young Adults Ministry Champion. The role will be outworked through Life Groups, pastoral care, weekend services, pastoral visits, and monthly Young Adults’ meetings.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the Pastoral Care and the qualitative and quantitative Discipleship growth and connection of City Life Manningham’s young adults and families in conjunction with the Network Pastor, where required.
  • Selecting, training, discipling and caring for all Young Adult Leaders.
  • Plan, organise, administer and oversee all young adult meetings, programs, activities, camps and special events, inclusive of relevant communication.
  • Plan, organise, communicate, administer, and oversee quality family training events (e.g. parenting training) and church family camps (authorised by the Lead Pastor), inclusive of relevant communication.
  • Fulfil a pastoral role at all City Life Church Manningham weekend celebration meetings and church events as required by the Lead Pastor.
  • Ensure that all young adults and families at City Life Manningham are personally cared for through Life Groups, visitation, hospitality, encouragement and counsel as and when necessary.
  • Facilitate a Life Group structure and foster pastoral care and discipleship amongst all young adults and families.
  • Develop and maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new young adults and families.
  • Teach, host and oversee various meetings (e.g. Sunday Services) as required

The successful applicant will have:

  • Diploma in Theology or Christian Ministry (or working towards) is preferable
  • Previous experience working with young adults/families in a pastoral setting.
  • Demonstrates a life submitted to Christ through lifestyle choices, words, and practice, i.e. Integrity, Spiritual vitality, Self-awareness, Self-leadership, Servant-leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, select, develop and lead leaders.
  • Track record of successful small group, coaching and pastoral care skills i.e. giving and receiving feedback, delegation and accountability.
  • Demonstrated confidence in spiritual gifts and ministry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication – including public speaking, and report writing.
  • Team building skills.
  • Effective decision-making and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to disciple young adults and families.
