As our Associate Dean of Education, you will:

  • Curriculum & Academic Leadership – Oversee units, resources, and quality for postgraduate, micro-credential, and professional development programs, including the Master of Educational Leadership.
  • Teaching & Research – Teach online and face-to-face, supervise Master’s theses, and lead the Educational Leadership research track.
  • Operations & Governance – Represent MC on committees, manage library budgets/resources, and deliver student academic support.
  • Student Engagement & Campus Life – Provide course advising and pastoral care while engaging in MC community, events, and chapel services.
  • This is a part-time role: 19 hours/week (2.5 days/week), with an anticipated start date for December 2026, though a later commencement date can be negotiated.
  • Remuneration: $59,450/year (0.5 FTE) excl.12% Super and 17.5% annual leave loading.
  • Tax Exempt Benefits: With religious practitioner tax exempt benefits and if claiming the tax free threshold, the take home pay for this role is equivalent to a salary of $73,485/year.

Essential Attributes (please respond to these attributes in your Cover Letter):

  • Academic Qualifications to teach at required AQF levels.
  • Doctoral-level qualification in Education.
  • Holds or is eligible for an active paid Working with Children’s Check.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
  • Experience in teaching within a higher education institution or related teacher professional-development setting.
  • Demonstrated academic expertise, knowledge, and experience in Education, including curriculum design, delivery, and assessments.
  • Committed to ongoing research and professional development.
  • Christian ministry experience in the relevant field of teaching.
  • Willingness to embrace a culture of shared evangelical conviction and gracious, respectful disagreement on other matters.
  • Demonstrated Christian character and involvement in a local evangelical church.
  • Alignment of personal values, beliefs and practices with the mission, Staff Code (https://tinyurl.com/mcstaffcode), and Christian ethos of Morling College.

Desirable Attributes

  • Formal academic qualifications in Theology, Biblical Studies or a related discipline, at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
  • Experience in management within a higher education institution or related teacher professional setting.
