Director of Teaching, Learning and Innovation

Job Description

Help us reimagine what excellent Christian education can be.

  • Do you believe Christian education should be among the most intellectually rigorous, deeply engaging, innovative and transformative education we can offer?
  • Do you think deeply about what it means to teach and learn from a distinctively Christian worldview, not as something added to education, but something that shapes our understanding of knowledge, truth, purpose, people and the very reason we educate?
  • And are you endlessly curious about what great learning could become?
  • Do you believe students need strong foundations AND opportunities to inquire, create, solve, design and apply? Do you practice explicit teaching AND applied learning?
  • Do you ask not only what should we teach but what actually makes learning powerful, memorable and transformative?
  • Do you look at what schools and education systems in Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Canada and beyond are doing, not because we should copy them, but because you are curious about what we might learn, critically examine and thoughtfully reimagine within a Christian educational context?
  • Can you champion evidence-informed practice while still asking whether the way we have always done things is the best way forward?
  • Do you embrace technology, while understanding that technology is a tool for learning, not the learning itself?
  • Are you excited by the extraordinary possibilities of AI in education, while being prepared to think deeply and critically about its impact on pedagogy, assessment, relationships, human agency, and, from a Christian understanding of what it means to be human, what technology should and should not become?

If these are the kinds of questions that occupy your thinking as a Christian educational leader, keep reading.

We are looking for an experienced Christian educational leader who will join our newly formed Executive team. We are not looking for a standard Director of Teaching and Learning who happens to be Christian. We are looking for a Christian educational thinker who is also seriously sophisticated about pedagogy, evidence, innovation and the future of schooling.
