The Youth, Children, and Family Ministry Coordinator creates and enhances programs while supporting the mission of Grace Community. The role fosters engagement among youth, children, and families in church activities. The position is responsible for overseeing the youth, children, and family programs at Grace Community. The role includes preparation of activities and collaborating with Sunday School leaders.

The Ministry Coordinator attends the 10 a.m. Sunday Service to lead children's talks and participate in related activities.

Key selection criteria
Qualifications and experience

This position requires the following knowledge and experience:
• Minimum Diploma in childhood education and care, or equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ experience working with children and young people within the theology of the Uniting Church, or a wellbeing role with a Not-for-profit, preferred.
• An active member of the Uniting Church in Australia would be an advantage.

2. Organisation and planning skills: strong digital literacy skills including MS Office, social media, websites and research, ability to use initiative and identify priorities in relation to work demands; ensuring priority tasks are scheduled to meet deadlines.
3. Attention to detail: observes fine details; identifies gaps in information; looks for logical sequences of information; highlights practical considerations of plans and activities.
4. Teamwork: ability to cooperate and work well with others in pursuit of team goals; to collaborate and share information; to show consideration, concern and respect for others’ feelings and ideas; to accommodate and thrive in context of others’ different working styles.

Other requirements
Some flexibility is expected in terms of working hours; work will include Sundays, along with attendance to Presbytery, Church Council and Elders meetings when required. The person in this role is required to maintain a current Working with Children’s Check, and their employment will be subject to satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check. The Ministry Coordinator agrees to abide by the UCA Child Safety Policy, and the Child Safe Code of Conduct adopted by their congregation and presbytery.
