Job Description

This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about Christian education, enjoys the outdoors, and believes that some of life's most valuable learning takes place beyond the classroom.

As part of our Year 9 Program, you will engage students through both classroom teaching and a rich outdoor education experience that includes hiking expeditions, cycling camps, and canoe-based river journeys.

You will play a vital role in nurturing students' academic growth, character development, and Christian faith, helping them build resilience, leadership, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of themselves, others, and God.

Successful candidates will bring energy, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting students as they learn, grow, and flourish in both classroom and outdoor settings.

This role is offered on a 0.8 to 1.0 FTE basis, with the final appointment fraction determined by the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

We are seeking an educator who:

  • Is passionate about Christian education and student discipleship.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom teaching practice.
  • Enjoys active participation in outdoor education experiences, including camps, hikes, cycling, and canoe expeditions.
  • Can inspire students to grow academically, spiritually, and in character.
  • Builds strong relationships and works collaboratively within a team.

Requirements

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and VIT registration
  • Wilderness First Aid Course including & Community Surf Life Saving Certificate (or ability to attain)
  • Display a firm commitment to a Christian Worldview and the outworking of that within the College setting
  • Understand, model, uphold and support the ethos of the College and our Core Values
  • Experience leading or participating in outdoor education programs, camps, expeditions, or experiential learning activities is desirable
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency or hold a visa with appropriate working rights

The College is located on one campus within the growing suburb of Bell Post Hill in Geelong. With a team of approximately 200 dedicated staff members, we cater to a community of 740 students across the College and an additional 100 in our Kindergarten program.
