Are you passionate about stewarding church resources effectively and managing operational activities to support the ministry team and Board as your mission for the gospel? LifeGate Church in Glen Waverley, Melbourne is seeking a part-time Business Manager (0.4 to 0.6 FTE) to oversee our administration and finances, ensuring robust systems are in place, coordinating human resources and compliance frameworks, managing facilities and operational workflows, and working collaboratively to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the broader church community.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Finance Management: Provide leadership and oversight of the Church's day-to-day financial operations in accordance with Board-approved policies, delegated authorities, and approved budgets, while supporting the Board's financial governance responsibilities.
• Human Resources: Coordinate HR processes, policy compliance and employment administration for approximately 10 staff.
• Governance and Compliance: Monitor and manage church compliance frameworks, risk mitigation, and reporting obligations.
• Administration & Facilities: Oversee and coordinate operational workflows, church management systems, and the maintenance and servicing of church facilities.

We are looking for someone who:

• Identifies with the vision, mission, and values of LifeGate Church.
• Has a minimum of three years' relevant experience.
• Can work independently to establish robust operational systems while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with staff, ministry leaders and volunteers to achieve shared outcomes.
• Is able to think strategically and establish scalable processes while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Is well organised with excellent communication, relational, and planning skills.
• Holds permanent work rights in Australia.

Qualifications and skills:

• Must have been a Christian for at least 2 years with a growing personal relationship with Christ.
• Preferably a member, or working towards being a member, of LifeGate Church.
• Graduated with at least a Bachelor of Business/Management or equivalent, with a finance or accounting background.
• Well-developed written communication skills, including the ability to prepare Board-ready reports and official correspondence.
• Computer proficiency (including Microsoft Office, Xero Accounting Software and Church Management Software). Training will be provided if necessary.
• Effective administrative skills, including the ability to set goals, facilitate planning, and establish efficient administrative workflows.
• Ability to efficiently and professionally manage competing priorities and challenging situations.
• Strong commitment to accuracy and collaboration and influencing skills.
