With a rich 65-year history, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, located in Perth, Western Australia, has a 1000 strong congregation across three campuses. Our church is a multisite organisation with an on-site café, and a charitable foundation, Mercy Reach Foundation.

The Role – Director of Ministries

Guided by God’s calling, the Director of Ministries will support the Senior Pastor in providing spiritual and ministry leadership across the life of our church. Reporting to the Board and partnering closely with the Senior Pastor, Director of Ministries will help lead the church into its next season.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ministry Leadership – with the support of over 20 ministry leaders and staff, the Director of Ministries will support the Senior Pastor and contribute to the development and implementation of vision, mission and core values across the life of the church.
  • Leadership Development – commitment to mentor and develop ministry and volunteer leaders in their gifting and calling.
  • Biblical Teaching and Preaching – a member of the preaching and teaching team, communicating the Christian faith and life’s journey in an inspiring and relevant way.

Character, Experience and Qualifications

  • Character and Spiritual Maturity – a godly and Spirit-filled believer with the ability to prayerfully seek God’s heart and mind for the church and its ministries with a focus on kingdom building vision.
  • Pastoral Care – having a shepherd’s heart to provide and facilitate spiritual and emotional support to individuals with a focus on holistic well-being.
  • Qualifications – Suitable theological training and qualifications, eligible for accreditation with Baptist Churches WA.
  • Administration – practical organisation and time management skills in a large settingAbility to work with a dynamic Board and commitment to best practice compliance.

The allocation of time against this role shall commence at 3 days per week however, will progress to full time within six months of appointment. All candidates should be willing to increase their hours as required.

Applicant must reside in Western Australia or be willing to relocate to fulfil the responsibilities of the role effectively.
