Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2026.

As Communications Assistant and Alumni Coordinator, you will play a vital role in keeping parents, alumni and current students engaged with the College. Our ideal candidate will bring strong experience in communications, event management and digital marketing, preferably within an educational institution. This is a part-time (FTE 0.4) 12-month fixed term (Parental Leave Replacement) contract commencing August 2026.

Key responsibilities as part of the Communications Assistant role include maintaining the College photo database, posting on and monitoring social media platforms, overseeing the production of fortnightly newsletters (campus news) and ad hoc photography and publication creation. As the Alumni Coordinator, you will coordinate all aspects of the College alumni program (including alumni events). Your key support in engaging the College community in both roles will play a vital role in fostering connections with our alumni while supporting effective communication strategies across the college.

You are an ideal candidate if you:

  • Have skills and experience in desktop publishing such as Canva and Adobe suite (highly desirable)
  • Have strong communications and social media skills across Facebook, Google advertising, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and ideally TikTok as well (the latter is optional)
  • Have proven event and project management skills
  • Are highly organised, proactive, and efficient
  • Have good administrative and Microsoft Office 365 skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Enjoy working in a team environment
  • Have a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education
  • Are willing to get involved in all aspects of the College’s programs and opportunities
