Charlton Christian College is a K–12 co-educational Christian College located in Lake Macquarie. Our mission is to provide a Christ-centred education of excellence that empowers students to develop their God-given potential.

Due to continued growth and the next phase of our strategic journey, we are seeking an experienced and faith-driven Assistant Principal to join our Executive Team.

This is a key senior leadership role, working alongside the Principal as 2IC, with College-wide responsibility for the strategic leadership and alignment of teaching and learning, student wellbeing and faith integration.

About the Role

  • Provide strategic leadership of teaching and learning, wellbeing and Christian education across K–12
  • Lead the Lead Education Team, including the Heads of Primary and Secondary and the Head of Teaching and Learning
  • Drive continuous improvement in curriculum, pedagogy and student outcomes
  • Oversee teacher accreditation, appraisal and professional growth
  • Provide strategic oversight of student wellbeing, chaplaincy and support services
  • Operate effectively at both a strategic and operational level, translating vision into consistent College-wide practice
  • Contribute to whole-College strategy, planning and culture

The Successful Applicant Will Have

  • A personal Christian faith, active church involvement, and alignment with the College’s Statement of Faith
  • Extensive experience in senior educational leadership
  • Demonstrated success improving teaching and learning outcomes
  • Strong capacity to lead strategy, people and culture
  • Experience overseeing student wellbeing or support services
  • Current NSW Teacher Accreditation and Working with Children Check

Salary & Conditions

This full-time position will commence in January 2027.

The salary is in accordance with the NSW Christian Schools Teaching Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement, including a Position of Responsibility (POR) Allowance – Level 4. The commencing salary for this role is expected to be circa $175,000, inclusive of base salary and POR allowance, commensurate with experience.
