The Role

Hillcrest Christian College is seeking a professional, friendly, and highly organised Receptionist / Administrator to join our administration team. This role is the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors and plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the College.

The successful applicant will provide front-of-house reception services while undertaking a broad range of administrative and clerical duties across Crest Education. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a welcoming and professional front-of-house presence for students, parents, visitors, and staff
  • Monitor, record, and authorise late student arrivals and early departures using Synergetic
  • Manage visitor sign-in procedures and ensure all visitor access protocols are followed
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct enquiries appropriately
  • Take and relay messages to staff in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain stationery and office supplies, including ordering when required
  • Perform general clerical duties including photocopying, scanning, filing, mailing, and document preparation
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence as directed
  • Receive deliveries and ensure items are recorded and distributed appropriately
  • Coordinate internal mail distribution between College campuses as required
  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Assistants team and other departments as needed

About You

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a fast paced receptionist or administrative role, preferably within an education environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional presentation and a positive, approachable manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and administration systems
  • Experience using Synergetic (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
