Are you a natural leader with a heart for people and a passion for supporting individuals with disability to live well? ICAS is seeking an experienced Team Coordinator to lead Support Workers and ensure high‑quality support for our clients and across our SIL home.

About this Role

This hands‑on role offers autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to make a real impact. Working 3 days per week (with potential to move into full time), you’ll work from home, with weekly visits to our Logan SIL house and travel across the Brisbane region to meet with participants and review support plans and progress.

You will collaborate closely with participants, their families, informal supports, and Support Workers to build a culture of trust, transparency, and reflective practice. You’ll help teams develop their skills, strengthen communication, and ensure support plans and weekly routines align with each participant’s goals. You will guide and coordinate the team to ensure supports are delivered safely, consistently, and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support a team of Support Workers
  • Support team skill building, reflective practice, and training needs
  • Lead and participate in small team meetings – in person and virtually
  • Participate in recruitment, induction, and orientation of new team members
  • Develop, review, and monitor participant support plans
  • Conduct in‑home check‑ins with participants to review support quality
  • Collaborate with participants to build community engagement
  • Build strong, reciprocal relationships with participants, families, and support networks
  • Communicate regularly with families and informal supports
  • Undertake risk assessments and manage incidents in line with policies and procedures
  • Assist with staffing, rosters, and daily SIL operations
  • Ensure NDIS compliance requirements are met
  • Respond to issues with initiative and creative problem solving
  • Work independently under general direction

Essential Criteria

  • Strong problem‑solving and quick decision‑making
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect, influence and lead others
  • High initiative and ability to work autonomously
  • Strong organisational and coordination abilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • First Aid certificate
  • Blue Card & Yellow Card (or NDIS Worker Screening)
  • Reliable vehicle and valid licence

Desirable

  • Experience in NDIS or SIL, including client care plan development
  • Ability to monitor performance, conduct risk assessments, and support incident/compliance processes
  • Experience with SIL house setup and emergency procedures
  • Strong understanding of NDIS practice standards and SIL operational requirements
