Bendigo Baptist Community Care Inc. (Madcow)

MADCOW (Make A Difference, Change Our World) is an initiative of Bendigo Baptist Community Care Inc., a registered charity and certified social enterprise based in Bendigo, Victoria. Established to respond to community need, MADCOW exists to break the cycle of generational injustice by preventing family breakdown and responding practically and compassionately to homelessness.

MADCOW provides holistic homeless support services through its purpose‑built Homeless Hub in central Bendigo. Guests can access daily meals, showers, laundry, clothing, bedding, storage, social connection, and a safe environment where dignity and respect are central. The Hub also acts as a meeting place where partner organisations deliver wrap‑around services including housing support, health care, alcohol and other drug services, Centrelink access, and advocacy.
Alongside direct homeless services, MADCOW operates a range of social enterprises, including cleaning, gardening, op‑shop and community support services. These enterprises provide employment opportunities—particularly for refugees and people facing barriers to employment—while generating income to fully fund MADCOW’s homeless programs.

MADCOW’s work is deeply relational and faith‑based, shaped by Christian values of compassion, hospitality, justice, and service. In partnership with volunteers, churches, service providers, and the wider community, MADCOW seeks to create spaces of safety, belonging, and hope for Bendigo’s most vulnerable people.
