Position Overview

The Part-Time Cleaner is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across common areas of the retirement village. The position requires initiative, attention to detail, and a caring, customer-focused approach suited to working within an older-person community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain common areas including hallways, lounges, dining rooms, community rooms, reception areas, and shared facilities.
  • Clean and sanitise bathrooms, kitchens, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Vacuum, mop, dust, sweep, and remove waste as required.
  • Maintain stock of cleaning supplies and report low stock or equipment faults.
  • Provide courteous and respectful customer service to residents and guests.
  • Respond professionally to cleaning-related requests.
  • Report hazards, maintenance needs, or safety concerns immediately.
  • Follow all WHS procedures and infection control standards.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies and regulatory guidelines.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial or residential cleaning.
  • Understanding of safe chemical handling and WHS practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in aged care or retirement living (desirable).
  • National Police Check (mandatory).

Remuneration

Conditions of employment are in line with the Residential Age Care & Villages Enterprise Agreement, Non-Direct care, Grade 2
