Northern Community is seeking a Clothing Hub Senior Consultant to provide personalised, respectful wardrobe consultations for individuals and families experiencing vulnerability. This is a hands‑on, people‑focused role where your eye for clothing, heart for community, love for Jesus and ability to work collaboratively will make a real difference.

About the Role

As the Clothing Hub Senior Consultant, you will offer private, appointment‑based consultations that help clients select clothing suited to their needs, preferences, and circumstances — always with dignity, generosity, and care. You’ll also play a key role in the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the Clothing Hub, working closely with other staff, volunteers, and partner agencies.

This is a casual role (10–15 hours per week) reporting to the Northern Community Church of Christ Ministry Team Leader. (This normally made up of 3 x 5 hr shifts)

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide personalised clothing consultations in a welcoming and respectful environment
  • Liaise with and develop ongoing effective working relationships with support workers and agencies
  • Manage fair and equitable distribution of clothing
  • Maintain a high standard of visual merchandising and presentation
  • Support, train, and guide volunteers where appropriate
  • Manage stock control/warehousing, ordering, receiving, and record‑keeping
  • Collect basic client and stock movement data
  • Work collaboratively with CareWorks staff and the Northern Community Church of Christ Ministry Team Leader
  • Contribute to a clean, safe, and well‑organised workspace
  • Attend regular staff meetings and participate in OHS processes

About You

You’re calm under pressure, deeply empathetic, and comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds. You bring both practical skills and a values‑driven approach to your work with a desire to see your Christian faith expressed in practical ways.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in clothing retail, fashion, or wardrobe consultation
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a non‑judgmental approach
  • Experience in the social and community sector (desirable)
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team (including volunteers)
  • Experience with stock management (Xero inventory knowledge is an advantage)
  • Excellent organisation, time‑management, and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform physical tasks necessary for the role, including but not limited to lifting an 8kg box above head, and regular walking up and down 5 steps throughout the shift.
  • A commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice
  • Alignment with the purpose and values of Northern Community
  • A current Federal Police Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
