Oaktree Anglican is seeking a pioneering and ordained Assistant Pastor to begin in 2026 to revitalise our Elsternwick site and to lead our ministry with young people across both churches......
This is a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to a church that has a strong history and is renewed in its vision towards a fresh new season.
This will be someone who has a heart for those who don’t know Jesus, has previously been able to plant, lead and grow new ministries, and has experience in ministry to children, youth, and young adults.
The Assistant Pastor will work with the Lead Pastor, other staff and lay leaders to provide pastoral leadership across these two main areas.
This is a full-time position with housing provided. It is possible that this could become a job share with two part-time positions for appropriate candidates.
The expectation for the Assistant Pastor is that they will be a godly and energetic leader, highly relational, an excellent Bible teacher, a strategic thinker, able to lead staff and volunteers, able to equip and develop others for leadership and ministry as well as have the capacity to grow and develop ministries. Due to the level of responsibility this role entails, it is expected that applicants will have suitable previous experience.
The successful applicant will be working with a small committed team and serve according to the Oaktree Code of Conduct and the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne Safe Ministry protocols and codes of conduct.
