Annandale Christian College (ACC) is seeking an experienced and faith-driven leader to join our Executive Team as Director of Student Support.

This pivotal role provides strategic and operational leadership of all student support services across Prep to Year 12, ensuring cohesive, holistic and Christ-centred outcomes for every student. Reporting directly to the Principal, the Director of Student Support holds significant responsibility to ensure student support practices are evidence-informed, legally compliant and aligned with best practice in Queensland.

The Opportunity

As a member of the College Executive Team, you will work in close partnership with the Principal, Deputy Principal - Primary and Deputy Principal - Secondary to:

  • Lead and embed a cohesive Prep–Year 12 framework for inclusive education, engagement and wellbeing
  • Oversee inclusive education (learning support), student wellbeing, engagement and Defence School Mentor programs
  • Provide strategic advice on compliance, risk mitigation and emerging sector issues
  • Drive continuous improvement aligned with the College Strategic Plan

Key Areas of Leadership

Inclusive Education

  • Strategic oversight of the Inclusive Education team (Prep–Year 12)
  • Ensure effective identification, documentation and implementation of reasonable adjustments
  • Oversight of NCCD processes, funding accountability and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with disability legislation and standards
  • Build staff capability in inclusive pedagogy and differentiation

Student Wellbeing & Engagement

  • Lead chaplaincy, counselling, wellbeing programs and Defence support
  • Oversee behaviour support, engagement interventions and attendance processes
  • Lead whole-college approaches to mental health, pastoral care and trauma-informed practice
  • Undertake case management of high-risk and complex student matters
  • Promote developmentally appropriate and consistent wellbeing practices across year levels

Governance, Compliance & Risk

  • Maintain oversight of legislative obligations including disability standards, child protection, privacy and student duty of care
  • Lead policy implementation and review within the student support portfolio
  • Ensure accurate, secure and compliant documentation and reporting
  • Contribute to audits, regulatory reviews and external compliance processes
  • Partner with the Principal in managing high-risk student matters

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across inclusive education, wellbeing and engagement
  • Provide coaching, supervision and performance development
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings with families, allied health providers, NDIS services and Defence representatives
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and Christ-centred service

About You

You are a strategic and relational leader who combines deep expertise in inclusive education and student wellbeing with executive capability and strong governance acumen.

Essential:

  • Demonstrated leadership in inclusive education, student wellbeing or similar whole-school roles
  • Strong understanding of Disability Discrimination legislation, NCCD and inclusive practice
  • Experience leading complex case management and multidisciplinary teams
  • Capacity to contribute at Executive level to strategic planning and organisational governance
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed and contemporary wellbeing frameworks
  • Current Working with Children Blue Card - Paid or Exemption (or eligibility)

Desirable:

  • Experience in a Prep–Year 12 independent or faith-based school
  • Experience supporting Defence-connected families
  • Postgraduate qualifications in inclusive education, leadership or wellbeing
  • Queensland Teacher Registration (or eligibility)
