As a Casual Learning Support Assistant at St Andrews Christian College, you will play a crucial role in providing support to students with diverse learning needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational journey of our students, by supporting classroom teachers in their care and differentiated instruction of these students. The Learning Support Assistant will provide support to students in all aspects of their learning, providing a range of appropriate strategies to assist their learning and to help them achieve their God-given potential.

Casual Learning Support Assistant - Position Description

Acceptance and adherence to the College’s Statement of Belief is an essential condition of employment.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Experience working in a similar role within a secondary school environment
• Strong understanding of learning support strategies and techniques
• Ability to assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Proven experience in providing one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to special educational needs and disabilities
• Ability to adapt support strategies to meet the individual needs of students
• Proficient in using technology to support student learning and engagement
• An empathetic and patient approach when working with students facing learning challenges
• A commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
