About Hopefield

Hopefield is a Christian community based therapeutic and social services organisation. Our mission is to empower and equip those experiencing marginalisation to flourish.

Our target communities include those with backgrounds of trauma and abuse, those experiencing domestic and family violence, those experiencing mental health issues and those experiencing homelessness. Hopefield offers services in four areas of practice and is seeking to appoint a case worker within the Support Services team.

The Support Services team works with some of the most vulnerable and marginalised people in our community and provides a range of services including case management, advocacy, practical supports and group programs.

These services are offered from both our Cronulla and Kirrawee locations and the successful applicant must be willing to work across both locations as required.

About the Role

As a case worker you will work in a small team, with a variety of people in a client centred, strengths based approach following Australian Case Management standards. The successful applicant needs to be comfortable working with men and women.

Essential Criteria

  • Recognised qualifications and/or relevant experience in social work, community services or related discipline.
  • Previous experience in case management
  • Capacity to develop and maintain relationships and networks and build an appropriate referral base
  • Ability to reflect and be authentic in supervision and de-briefing sessions
  • Familiarity with not-for-profit and social service sectors
  • Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively as required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to task analyse, problem solve and adapt to and manage change
  • Ability to work flexible hours on occasions
  • Current drivers licence

Desirable Criteria

  • Understanding of Trauma Informed Care
  • Group facilitation skills
  • De-escalation skills
