About Compassion
Compassion Australia is part of Compassion International, a not-for profit, purpose-driven global network across more than 40 countries, working with sponsors, supporters and church partners as a Christian child development ministry to put love into action and help release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

About the Role
As the Major Giver Engagement Coordinator, you will play a key role in bringing donor relationships to life at Compassion Australia. Sitting within the Strategic Partnerships team, you will help deliver personalised and well-coordinated experiences for major donors through events, campaigns, communications and tailored day to day support that strengthens long term relationships.

This role combines stakeholder coordination and administration, offering hands on involvement across a variety of meaningful work, broad exposure to donor engagement strategy, and the opportunity to contribute to Compassion’s mission to help release children from poverty.

About You
You are organised, relational and purpose driven, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage priorities while building positive relationships through thoughtful engagement. You bring a proactive, service focused approach, enjoy working across teams, and ideally understand the nuances of Christian or not-for-profit workplaces where meaningful impact matters.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver high quality engagement activities for major and mid-level donors, supporting meaningful and long-term relationships
  • Support national major giver strategies, campaigns and events in collaboration with Partnerships Managers and the Strategic Partnerships team
  • Manage donor data, reporting and quality assurance across CRM and administrative systems
  • Coordinate events, logistics, collateral and communications to support donor engagement and relationship growth
  • Manage and qualify incoming leads, supporting the ongoing stewardship of donor relationships
  • Contribute to team targets and cross functional projects while upholding Compassion’s mission, values and culture

What you’ll bring

  • Strong coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, events and engagement activities with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, able to work confidently with a range of internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Experience supporting projects, campaigns or cross-functional teams, with a proactive, problem-solving approach
  • Working knowledge of CRM (Salesforce), record management or similar systems
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in business administration or a related field; experience in not for profit or Christian-based organisations highly regarded

Why join Compassion Australia?

  • Mission-first: Be part of a cause that changes lives. We exist to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. You’ll help our teams thrive so we can grow our impact - especially as we expand operations into Asia.
  • Great Culture: We take our work seriously, but we have fun
  • Flexible work: Genuine hybrid model
  • Make an impact: Shape culture, capability, and people systems
  • Collaborative & innovative: Work with people who care and strive for excellence.
