Diamond Women is a pregnancy support and women’s wellbeing charity providing free, professional, non-judgmental and holistic care to women and families facing unplanned pregnancy. For almost 20 years, we have walked alongside thousands of women through counselling, casework, mentoring, group programs and practical support - helping women build stability, confidence and hope for the future.

As we expand our services in Queensland, we are seeking a high-calibre Community/Social Worker who combines strong clinical skills with exceptional relationship-building ability to establish trusted referral pathways and deliver outstanding care.

Role Purpose

In this mission-critical role, you will provide professional counselling and case management to women while actively strengthening and growing partnerships across churches, hospitals, NGOs, and community services throughout Queensland.

You will position Diamond Women as a trusted, responsive, and values-driven partner in women’s care, while inviting churches and community organisations into a deeper expression of their mission through practical, relational, and sustainable collaboration.

This role plays a pivotal part in shaping Diamond Women’s reputation, referral pathways, and long-term impact in Queensland - ensuring more women can access timely, compassionate, and holistic support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Care & Client Support

  • Provide professional counselling and psychosocial assessment to women experiencing unplanned pregnancy, grief and loss, trauma, domestic violence, housing insecurity, and financial stress
  • Deliver short-term therapeutic interventions and ongoing case management as required
  • Support clients with safety planning, advocacy, and referrals to external services
  • Facilitate or contribute to group programs and psychoeducational workshops
  • Maintain accurate and ethical client records in line with organisational and funding requirements

2. Community & Hospital Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with:
    • Hospital social work departments
    • Maternity and antenatal services
    • Community health centres, churches and NGOs
  • Proactively book and attend:
    • In-service presentations
    • Local interagency and network forums
  • Clearly communicate Diamond Women’s services and referral pathways
  • Follow up consistently to build long-term trust and referral flow
  • Track referral sources and engagement outcomes through CRM systems

3. Church & Volunteer Engagement

  • Identify, activate, and grow partnerships with churches across Queensland
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with pastoral teams and ministry leaders
  • Plan, prepare and deliver presentations within churches and faith communities
  • Invite churches into meaningful partnership that aligns with both their mission and Diamond Women’s services
  • Build and strengthen relationships with volunteers connected to church partners

4.Organisational Leadership & Brand Representation

  • Represent Diamond Women with professionalism, warmth, and discretion in all settings
  • Uphold organisational values, clinical integrity, and safeguarding standards
  • Contribute insights on community needs, service gaps, and partnership opportunities
  • Support volunteers or students where appropriate
  • Collaborate closely with NSW leadership and program teams to ensure service alignment

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Minimum 3 years experience in frontline community services
  • Demonstrated counselling and case management experience
  • Proven ability to build partnerships with busy professionals and organisations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • High personal integrity, reliability, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a growing service environment

Desirable Experience

  • Perinatal mental health, pregnancy support, or family violence experience
  • Group facilitation or program delivery
  • Community development or outreach roles
  • Eligible for Medicare provider number (highly desirable)
  • Working within faith-based services
