Role Overview

Inspire Church General Manager plays a key role in overseeing and enhancing the general operative efficiency, compliance, and strategic direction of Inspire Church and its entities. Working in collaboration with the Pastors, Board, Elders, staff and leadership of Inspire Church.

About the Person

This position requires a proactive and versatile leader with a strong understanding of operational management, compliance, and human resources within a church and/or non-profit setting.

It is essential for the successful candidate of this role have a commitment to the Inspire Church Statement of Belief. The role needs to show a commitment to the leadership, congregation and activities of Inspire Church.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily management and operational oversight of Inspire Church and its related entities
  • Implement, maintain and update policy and procedures
  • Oversight of work health and safety and child protection systems of Inspire Church
  • Enhance the efficiency of systems, teams and operations
  • Lead, train and support staff and ministry team leaders including strategic guidance on HR matters
  • Contribute new ideas for the continuous improvement of the Church and its related entities
  • Attend staff and executive meetings including presenting operational reports
  • Collaborate with the Business Manager to monitor and manage church-wide budgets
  • Oversee IT, security, communications and database systems
  • Provide general management and operational support to Inspire College and Inspire Childcare
  • Liaise and collaborate with stakeholders to meet the operational needs of Inspire Church.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in Church, Non-profit Sector or Business Management
  • Ministry, management or relevant qualifications are strongly desirable
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities for effective communication and collaboration.
  • Understanding of legal, governance, and compliance requirements within the church/non-profit sectors.
  • Familiarity with HR and workplace-related issues in a church or non-profit context.
  • A person of Christian convictions and character
  • Affirm and uphold Inspire Church Statement of Faith and committed to working a biblical worldview
  • Have a current Working with Children Check
  • Demonstrated high level written communication skills, including but not limited to report and policy, plan and procedure documentation.
  • Strong analytical and high-level problem-solving capabilities for risk and incident management.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, manage multiple deadlines and effectively deliver tasks and processes on time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google Workspace, to streamline workflows, manage documents, and collaborate effectively.
  • Collaborative team player, able to work effectively with diverse teams and senior leaders while maintaining a positive, approachable demeanour.
  • Able to work outside of office hours to attend meetings when required.
