We are seeking applications for a Part-time (0.4 FTE) Youth Pastor position to lead our growing and flourishing youth ministry, Iron Youth. Our current Youth Pastor and his wife vacate the position in January 2026. They currently lead a strong team of young adult volunteer leaders (18-22 years old) and high school junior leaders (years 11 & 12) in ministering to approximately 50 high school students who make up Iron Youth.

The Youth Pastor will report directly to the Senior Pastor, Peter Wiedemann, who is particularly focused on in-school ministry and has over 22 years of experience in Youth Ministry, currently as a Chaplain at a local high school and SRE teacher at both high and primary school levels.

Key roles and responsibilities are outlined in the linked document. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and abilities:

• A genuine calling, care and concern for high-school-aged youth, with demonstrated experience leading a vibrant and growing youth group.
• Deep personal faith with clear knowledge and understanding of the Bible and a genuine desire for spiritual growth.
• Demonstrated ability to articulate the Gospel, lead someone to Christ and form a discipleship relationship.
• High level of leadership ability with organisational and management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, which are demonstrated in the preparation and delivery of youth talks, small group studies and preaching in church.
• Certificate level or higher Bible College qualification or currently studying.
• Have or will obtain a current and valid NSW Working with Children Check and willingness to submit to ACC Safer Churches, Pastor Code of Conduct and Statement of Beliefs.

Life Church has available positions in other key areas, which the candidate may inquire about to increase work hours, particularly in worship leading and other social support work. Additionally, Life Church has housing that can be included as part of a ministry package.

Life Church is committed to seeing our leaders empower others, so we encourage succession plans both for emerging leaders and all pastoral positions. Opportunity exists for the Youth Pastor role to grow into an Assistant Pastor and, potentially, Senior Pastor role.
