You’ll need to make sure the warehouse runs well. Stock needs to move, systems need to work, food safety and compliance matter, and our team needs to be organised and productive.....
Loaves & Fishes Tasmania is a statewide food relief organisation, working to ensure Tasmanians experiencing food insecurity have access to nutritious food. We rescue, source, prepare and distribute food through a network of community partners across the state, while also creating opportunities for people to connect, contribute and build skills. At our heart, we’re about more than food, we’re about people, dignity and community.
We currently have a vacancy for a Warehouse Manager based out of our Devonport Warehouse. However, this isn’t your typical Warehouse Manager role.
Our warehouse may be supported by a small team, but it sits at the heart of Loaves & Fishes Tasmania. It connects with almost every part of our organisation, from our kitchens, drivers, volunteers, customers, community partners and the people we support across Tasmania.
We’re looking for someone who can lead the operations and the people within it.
Yes, you’ll need to make sure the warehouse runs well. Stock needs to move, systems need to work, food safety and compliance matter, and our team needs to be organised and productive.
But just as importantly, you’ll build relationships.
You’ll work with people from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and circumstances. That calls for a leader who is patient and empathetic, communicates well, builds trust and can bring out the best in different people while still maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
You’ll need to be comfortable moving between the practical and the personal: solving an operational problem one minute, supporting or motivating someone the next, and then working across the organisation to make sure everyone is pulling in the same direction.
Where looking for someone who:
This is a role with real reach across our organisation. For the right person, it’s an opportunity to lead an important part of Loaves & Fishes Tasmania while contributing to something much bigger than the warehouse itself.
Interested?
We’d love to hear from people who connect with both sides of this role, leading a strong, well-run warehouse while building genuine relationships with the people who make it all happen.
