As our Domestic and Family Violence Practice Advisor & Trainer, you'll help strengthen the capability of Anglican churches, ministers, volunteers and Anglicare teams to recognise, understand and respond safely to domestic and family violence.

Working within the Relationships & Wellbeing team, you'll combine specialist domestic and family violence expertise with engaging education and practical guidance to help churches build safer, more informed and compassionate communities.

Your opportunity

As our Domestic and Family Violence Practice Advisor & Trainer, you'll provide specialist domestic and family violence advice, develop practical resources and deliver engaging education that equips churches to respond safely, appropriately and compassionately to people impacted by domestic and family violence.

Working collaboratively with ministers, parish leaders, volunteers, Anglicare teams, Sydney Diocese stakeholders and community agencies, you'll strengthen understanding of trauma-informed practice, referral pathways, safeguarding responsibilities and role boundaries while building confidence across church communities.

With integrity and resilience, you will:

• Deliver engaging, trauma-informed domestic and family violence education across Anglican churches and ministry settings.
• Provide specialist domestic and family violence practice advice and guidance to ministers, parish leaders and volunteers.
• Develop practical resources that strengthen capability, confidence and safe responses across church communities.
• Build collaborative relationships with Anglicare teams, Sydney Diocese stakeholders and external community organisations.
• Promote evidence-informed practice, safeguarding principles and continuous improvement across all advisory and training activities.

What you'll bring

You are an experienced domestic and family violence practitioner and educator who is passionate about building safer communities through education, collaboration and capability development.

You communicate complex practice concepts with clarity, empathy and confidence, enabling others to respond safely and appropriately while maintaining strong professional boundaries. Most importantly, you'll share our organisational values of Integrity, Justice, Compassion and Excellence, embedding them in everything you do.

You will also need:

• Qualifications in Counselling, Social Work, Education, Social Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum three years' experience in domestic and family violence, trauma-informed practice, community education or related service delivery.
• Demonstrated experience delivering education, training or capability-building programs.
• Current Driver Licence.
• Current Working With Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

Ideally, you will also have:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent experience).
• Experience working with Anglican parishes, churches or other faith-based organisations.
• Strong understanding of coercive control and trauma-informed practice.
• Excellent facilitation, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• The ability to translate complex practice knowledge into practical, accessible learning experiences.
