We are seeking to appoint a highly effective and aspirational educator who is ready to grow into a leadership role within the HSIE faculty.
Position Summary
The Assistant Head of HSIE is an emerging leader within the faculty who supports the Head of Faculty in fostering a culture of excellence in teaching and learning. Working collaboratively with colleagues, the Assistant Head contributes to the design, implementation and refinement of high-quality curriculum, assessment and pedagogical practices that enhance student learning and achievement.
The role combines highly effective classroom practice with developing leadership capacity, including supporting colleagues through collaboration, modelling best practice, and contributing to faculty-wide improvement initiatives. The Assistant Head of HSIE plays a key role in ensuring consistency, quality and innovation across teaching programs, while actively promoting the College’s vision, mission and values.
Reports to: Head of Faculty
Status and Hours: Full Time - Permanent position
Student supervision hours are 8 am – 3.30 pm, although an understanding is required that the role will require greater hours than this, including attendance at weekly staff meetings and other after-hours events.

Salary: In accordance with the Independent Schools (Teachers) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025 or future approved agreement.
