About Young Life

Young Life is a Christian organization dedicated to supporting young people to thrive and live a life of purpose. Through relational ministry, Young Life serves communities by assisting adolescents at risk or disadvantaged, through fostering personal growth, leadership development, and outreach programs for young people.

Local Context

Young Life has been operating in the Barossa Valley, SA for over 15 years. The current team of regular volunteers, committee and 1 part time staff associate regularly engage with approximately 200 students across breakfast clubs, and two youth clubs. Young Life is well respected in the local community and churches and there is lots of opportunity for growth. A small but experienced committee provides oversight and fundraising support.

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Area Director to join our team in the Barossa. Key duties will include:

  • Spiritual leadership and ministry development
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers
  • Developing and implementing fundraising strategies
  • Building relationships with the community, donors, and church leaders
  • Overseeing direct ministry activities such as contact work, clubs, small groups, and camps
  • Managing finances and administration for the ministry area

About You

  • Has a strong Christian faith and alignment with Young Life’s mission
  • Possesses leadership experience in ministry or youth outreach
  • Has experience in fundraising and budget management
  • Demonstrates strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Has the ability to train and develop staff and volunteers

Desirable

  • A qualification in a relevant field
  • Experience working in a Christian organization or youth ministry
