Power to Change Australia is seeking an entrepreneurial Christian leader with 5+ years of youth ministry leadership to serve as National Strategy Director (NSD) – Youth, providing national leadership to a growing disciple-making movement among young people across Australia.

This role will shape the next phase of Power to Change’s growth in ministry to youth across schools, churches, and communities, working within a national and globally connected ministry environment.

For over 40 years, Power to Change’s Youth ministry has focused on helping young people know Jesus, grow as disciples, and live on mission. Today, teams are actively engaged in school outreach, relational discipleship, leadership development, and digital ministry.

Key Responsibilities

National Strategy & Growth

  • Lead the development of the national youth disciple-making strategy.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for growth in schools, churches, and community contexts.
  • Translate national priorities into clear regional and team plans.
  • Ensure alignment between youth ministry and broader organisational mission.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop youth ministry leaders across Australia.
  • Build leadership pathways for emerging disciple-makers.
  • Strengthen team culture, collaboration, and long-term sustainability.
  • Support staff development across diverse ministry contexts.

Movement & Partnerships

  • Strengthen integration between Youth Ministry, Campus, Church Movements, Digital Ministry, and GAiN.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local churches, schools, and Christian organisations.
  • Contribute to national and international collaboration within the wider movement.=

Communication & Organisational Contribution

  • Represent Youth Ministry within Power to Change and external ministry networks.
  • Contribute to recruitment, strategic planning, and ministry development.
  • Support fundraising engagement and partner communication where required.

Important Information

This is a mission-supported role. The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Build and maintain a personal ministry partner team (financial and prayer support)
  • Raise funds for salary and ministry expenses
  • Engage others in supporting the mission of Power to Change

Training, coaching, and ongoing support are provided to help you establish and grow a sustainable support base.

Practical Role Details

  • National leadership role with regular interstate travel expected
  • Reports to the National Leadership Team (final reporting line confirmed during recruitment)
  • Leads a distributed team of youth ministry staff across multiple regions
  • Works closely with directors across other ministry streams
  • Requires active collaboration across a national and international ministry network

  • Proven experience leading a youth ministry or disciple-making environment
  • Strong track record of developing leaders and growing ministry impact
  • Ability to lead teams across multiple locations and contexts
  • Deep commitment to evangelism, discipleship, and mission
  • Collaborative leadership style with strong organisational capability
  • Active involvement in a local church
  • Agreement with Power to Change’s Statement of Faith and mission
