About the role - (12-month contract)

As an Area Manager, you will be at the heart of driving excellence in Out of School Hours Care, leading Wesley OOSH services to create vibrant, high-quality environments where children thrive. This is more than an operational role. It is an opportunity to lead with purpose, inspire a team and make a lasting impact on children, families and Educators.

This is a role for someone who thrives on building strong teams, solving challenges and driving continuous improvement. You will mentor and coach Centre Coordinators, strengthen relationships with school communities and ensure each service performs at its absolute best.

The Leader We’re Looking For

Demonstrated Behaviours

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Minimum three years’ leadership experience
  • Qualification in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent), and eligible to be Nominated Supervisor
  • Current First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certification, or willingness to obtain
  • Strong capability in recruitment, performance management, and staff development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the confidence to lead meetings and resolve issues
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, enrolments, rosters, and service growth across multiple sites
  • Deep working knowledge of the National Quality Framework and My Time Our Place, with the ability to support its consistent application
  • Confident with Microsoft Office and other systems for planning, compliance, and operational oversight
  • Alignment with Wesley Mission values, and a commitment to maintaining child-safe, inclusive environments
  • Experience in the not-for-profit or community sector

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience supporting policy development, quality assurance, or compliance systems
  • Familiarity with OOSH digital platforms such as QikKids, Xplor, or similar
  • Minimum three years’ leadership experience in Early Childhood or OOSH, with proven success in team and service performance

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Children's Services Award, with generous salary packaging benefits available. Additional benefits include discounted private health coverage, study assistance, and an employee assistance program.
