Youth Pastor

We are passionate about helping people follow Jesus, find community, and live lives transformed by the Gospel. We are excited to be creating a new Youth Pastor position, an opportunity for someone with a heart for young people to help shape and lead a growing youth ministry within the life of our church.

This role is about more than running programs. We are looking for someone who will pastor, disciple, encourage, and invest in the next generation, helping young people build authentic faith, meaningful relationships, and a strong connection to the church.

The Youth Pastor will work closely with the church leadership team to support the mission and vision of Lake Gwelup Christian Church through youth ministry.

Key Responsibilities

Pastoral Care & Discipleship

• Pastorally care for, mentor, and disciple the young people of LGCC.
• Build genuine relationships with youth and their families.
• Create environments where young people can grow in their faith and relationship with Jesus.
• Maintain and model the spiritual culture and values of LGCC.

Ministry Leadership

• Lead and advocate for all Youth Ministry programs and initiatives.
• Develop engaging, safe, and welcoming programs for young people.
• Provide opportunities for connection, discipleship, fun, and spiritual growth.
• Work alongside church leadership to help integrate youth into the wider church community.

Volunteer Development

• Recruit, train, support, and lead youth ministry volunteers.
• Encourage healthy team culture and leadership development within the ministry.
• Equip volunteers to pastor and disciple young people effectively.

Church & Team Participation

• Actively participate in the life of LGCC.
• Attend and contribute to staff and ministry team meetings.
• Participate in a regular mentoring relationship and continue personal spiritual growth.
• Assist with general church responsibilities and other duties as required.

Experience

• Experience working in youth ministry.
• Experience working with youth and teenagers.
• Experience leading and managing teams and volunteers.

• Leadership and team-building ability.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a church staff team.
• Ability to manage projects and responsibilities autonomously.
• Strong administration and planning skills.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Relevant theological or Bible college qualification (desirable).
• Current Working With Children Check.
• National Police Clearance.
• Member of LGCC, or willingness to become part of the church community.
