Bayside Christian College is seeking to appoint Education Support staff to fill vacancies and commence as soon as possible.

The role of Education Support (also known as Teacher Aides) is to support the inclusion of students with a range of needs into school activities.

Bayside Christian College is a coeducational Christian school offering Kindergarten through to Year 12. The College is located in Langwarrin South, at the gateway to the Mornington Peninsula. The College’s 600+ students enjoy learning within a caring and friendly atmosphere set within beautiful natural surroundings.

The Role

This role involves assisting students to participate fully in school activities. This includes providing support in the classroom, in the school yard, on school excursions, at sports days, and other out-of-classroom activities. The role may also involve running intervention programs with individuals or small groups. Learning assistants work under the guidance of the classroom teacher and the Heads of Education Support.

About You

The successful candidates will have:

  • A sound understanding of and commitment to the Christian mission and philosophy of the College
  • Ability to build rapport with students, staff and parents
  • A desire to support vulnerable students to thrive
  • Willingness to learn

It is desirable that you have relevant training and/or previous experience in educational support or a related field.

People currently undertaking (or who have a willingness to undertake) an educational support qualification are encouraged to apply.

People studying a teaching qualification are encouraged to apply as this is credited as relevant training and experience.

Experience in implementing literacy and numeracy intervention programs will be valued, as it strengthens the College’s capacity to provide targeted support and improve student outcomes across core learning areas.
