The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and mission‑aligned Marketing & Communications Manager to lead marketing and communications for Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child, and The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association across Australia and New Zealand. Based in Sydney, you will join the Senior Management Team and help shape strategic communications, fundraising campaigns and supporter engagement.

You will lead and develop the marketing and communications team and oversee end-to-end workflow—from project scoping through to on-time delivery of high-quality, multi-channel content. The role is pivotal to keeping supporters informed, strengthening donor engagement, and building sustainable relationships with partner organisations.

This position may involve occasional travel within Australia, New Zealand, and to International HQ in North Carolina, USA.

It is essential to reside in the assigned Region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold the standards established for all employees of Samaritan’s Purse (SPA), Operation Christmas Child (OCC) and The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA)
  • Partner with International Headquarters (IHQ) Communications Vice President and representatives to recommend ministry-specific strategic plans
  • Develop and deliver tactical communications projects and fundraising campaigns
  • Ensure marketing, fundraising, communications and public relations capabilities are effective and donor-centred, with communications targeted to an evangelical Christian audience
  • Manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, adapting when parameters or timelines change
  • Drive professional delivery of communications projects by delegating design and writing, coordinating approvals, and working with internal/external stakeholders and vendors

About You

Essential Criteria (please address in your cover letter):

  • A committed Christian in agreement and compliance with the SPA Statement of Faith, Mission Statements and organisation policies
  • Bachelor-level degree in Marketing, with a minimum of 3 years’ management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, planning and organisational skills
  • Experience across print and digital media
  • Experience managing departmental budgets
  • Proven ability to lead and manage staff and provide strategic direction
  • Experience managing international relationships and approval processes
  • Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously within a team environment
  • Maintain an active relationship with, and be a consistent witness for, Jesus Christ (including participation in daily staff prayer and devotions) and maintains membership in good standing with a church.
