As Mental Health Pracitioner you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of older people living in Residential Aged Care Facilities.

About the Role

As a Mental Health Practitioner with the EWOP team, you will deliver psychological and psychosocial therapeutic support to older people, while also building the capability of aged care staff to respond to residents’ mental health needs. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide person‑centred, evidence‑based interventions and contribute to strong partnerships across the aged care sector.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a client caseload and delivering counselling, coaching and psychological therapies (including group work)
  • Developing and implementing individual support plans to achieve mental health outcomes
  • Collaborating with families, RACF staff, clinicians and community partners
  • Providing psychoeducation and capacity‑building support to RACF staff
  • Maintaining high‑quality documentation and contributing to clinical governance and continuous improvement

About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Psychologist, Social Worker, Counsellor, Registered Nurse or equivalent)
  • Current professional registration (AHPRA, AASW, ACA, PACFA or equivalent)
  • Minimum two years’ experience working in mental health and/or aged care
  • Strong communication, collaboration and clinical skills
  • A commitment to Anglicare’s Vision, Mission and Values
  • NSW Driver Licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
