We have a rare opportunity for the right person to take on the role of Director at our beautiful community preschool. We are seeking an experienced and supportive leader to guide our wonderful team into the future, with inspiration and cohesion.

The ideal applicant will be caring, friendly and passionate about high quality care and education. You would need a Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification and NESA proficient Teacher Accreditation, experience as a director, and the skills to take on the role. About Minooka Preschool and what we offer:

About the Director

As Director of the preschool, some of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Being responsible for the daily management and operations of the service.
  • Ensuring that all compliance regulations are followed and a child safe environment is maintained.
  • Ensure an innovative and high-quality educational program is provided in line with the ELYF and the preschool's philosophy.
  • Focused on mentoring, inspiring and influencing educators to engage in best practice through support, guidance and critical reflection discussions.
  • Fostering an inclusive, engaging and nurturing environment where families, children, and staff feel connected and supported.
  • Promoting a positive workplace culture where professional learning and continuous improvement are valued.
  • Actively participating in meetings and preschool events which may occur outside working hours.
  • Working closely with our Board of Management (Approved Provider) and collaborate with them to make decisions in the best interests of children, staff and the preschool. Also working closely with Mortdale Oatley Baptist Church office manager.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification and NESA proficient Teacher Accreditation.
  • Applicant must include a church reference and a profession of personal faith.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years experience as a Director, supporting a service through the process of being awarded "exceeding" would be an advantage.
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance and National Child safety training
  • Current ACECQA approved First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis and Child Protection qualifications.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the NQF, EYLF V2.0, Regulations, Child Protection laws and Child Safe Standards.
  • Strong collaborative leadership abilities that display respect, dignity and direction and the ability to inspire and mentor educators.
  • Passionate about implementing a high-quality, child focused and play based program for children and ensuring our philosophy is embedded in all preschool policies, procedures and practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including competent computer skills.
  • Financial management and administrative experience specific to an early childhood service.
  • Enthusiastic with a positive, flexible approach to work and a professional manner.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
