Full-Time Minister – Rosewood/Walloon and Fernvale Uniting Churches

Overview

The Rosewood/Walloon and Fernvale Uniting Churches are in the picturesque Brisbane Valley region. The congregations are just 20 minutes from each other and from Ipswich, and less than an hour from Brisbane. Both rural townships are experiencing steady population growth, and each congregation carries a long and rich history as a vital village church engaged in local mission, community service, and outreach.

With a shared desire to partner in ministry, the two congregations are seeking a full-time ministry agent who will help them continue pursuing their mission and ministry goals. This placement spans both locations, each with its own character and priorities, yet united in nurturing the ongoing and expanding life and witness of God’s Kingdom.

General Programs and Activities of both congregations:

  • Worship, Pastoral Care and Faith Formation
  • Weekly Sunday morning worship services in both congregations and a smaller monthly worship service at Walloon
  • Regular Bible study groups that encourage learning, discipleship, and spiritual growth
  • Fellowship gatherings that strengthen relationships and community life
  • Intentional pastoral care within the congregations

Mission and Community Engagement

  • School-based ministry and chaplaincy support
  • Offering pastoral presence in local aged-care centres
  • Operation of the vibrant Rosewood Goodwill Op Shop, providing hospitality, connection, and practical support to the community

Roles and Responsibilities of the Minister

The congregations are seeking a minister who will:

  • Lead worship with confidence and theological depth
  • Encourage people of all ages to grow in faith and discipleship
  • Support, mentor, and strengthen leaders across both congregations
  • Equip members for pastoral care, enabling them to care for one another
  • Help the congregations engage their communities in practical and compassionate ways
  • Assist both congregations in connecting with new residents, welcoming them into the life and mission of the local church
