The Opportunity

We are looking for a theologically trained, suitably qualified Pastor to join our ministry team here at The Bridge Church in Sydney, to take on the role of lead Campus Pastor at one of our locations, under the leadership of our Senior Pastor.

We would welcome applicants with a broad experience base for this exciting position, which is an opportunity to step into a senior role within our large staff team where you will lead and manage a pastoral team and shepherd your congregations, as well as growing existing or developing new ministry opportunities. The successful candidate will also sit on our Executive team, being involved in strategic direction for The Bridge Church.

As a relationally rich church, your heart will be pastoral, with a desire to teach and disciple within several congregations in our church. You will lead the campus congregational team and be motivated to see the six distinctives of our church actively at work. Our distinctives are expectant prayer, joyful gatherings, deep discipleship & training, real relationships, engaging evangelism and radical God-centred generosity.

Your stipend will be in accordance with diocesan remuneration guidelines, including housing and other allowances, based on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time role and will report to the Senior Pastor.

Key Responsibilities

As the leader of a campus congregational team, the key responsibilities include regular preaching and leading Sunday services, providing leadership and pastoral care to team leaders, interns, and pastors in training, establishing congregational culture aligned with church distinctives, building community life, identifying and discipling new leaders, assisting in planning and leading wider church ministries, and coaching, mentoring, and discipling pastors and interns.

Conviction, Qualifications and Experience

Key requirements for this pastoral role include having at least 5 years of experience and a theological degree (bachelor or masters) and preferably ordained Anglican. You must possess a strong Christian character, demonstrating prayerfulness, grace, and a love for Christ and the church. You should also have a servant heart, be teachable, and able to work well within a team and under authority.

Skills and Capabilities

You should have a proven ability to teach the Bible, provide pastoral care, and lead/train groups. You will need excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Key attributes include a willingness to learn, ability to work independently and as part of a team, flexibility with working hours, and a passion for working with volunteers. Basic computer competency is also required.
