Ministry Co-ordinator

Seeking a part-time Ministry Co-ordinator to support an emerging faith community (known as Wild Wonder), and develop other initiatives to connect with people under 50 in the West Lake Macquarie region.....

The position is part-time, 15 hours per week (or 30 hours per fortnight), and is a fixed term appointment, for a period of 2 years.

The position is based at Toronto Uniting Church, with flexibility to work from other locations as needed. Days and hours of work are flexible, with capacity to vary work hours from week to week. The position will include some work time on Sundays.

About the role:

The Ministry Co-ordinator will

• Support the existing initiative, Wild Wonder, by co-ordinating and publicising Sunday gatherings, and supporting the Steering Group.
• Collaborate with Wild Wonder attenders and leaders within Toronto Uniting Church to discern opportunities and capacity for other initiatives (e.g playgroup);
• Contribute to Toronto Uniting Church’s Strategic Planning and ongoing work towards connecting and supporting children and families in the local area.
• Demonstrated experience working and engaging with young people, small children and their families, and volunteers.
• Experience in Community Development
• Willingness to embrace the ethos, values and polity of the Uniting Church
• Valid Working with Children Check and up to date UCA Culture of Safety training (or willingness to undertake)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including via online platforms and social media
• Highly organised, with an ability to work in team ministry and demonstrate initiative to work independently
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the Uniting Church and its polity, its structure, systems and processes.
• Driver’s license & current First Aid Certificate
