Seeking a leader who can set direction, build leaders, and mobilise people into mission, while strengthening partnerships across Australia and internationally.....

Location: Flexible (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane preferred)

Employment: Full-time

Lead a national humanitarian strategy with global impact

Global Aid Network (GAiN) Australia is the humanitarian arm of Power to Change, working across disaster response, medical missions, clean water, and community development. As part of the global movement of Campus Crusade, with 15,000 staff in 190 countries, GAiN integrates practical compassion with long-term impact.

This is a pivotal national leadership role at a defining moment. GAiN Australia is experiencing significant growth and is moving toward a scalable, strategic approach with greater national alignment and global integration.

We are seeking a leader who can set direction, build leaders, and mobilise people into mission, while strengthening partnerships across Australia and internationally.

The Role

The National Strategy Director (NSD) leads the Global Aid strategy within Power to Change Australia and serves as the Executive Director of the DGR entity, GAiN Australia, bringing together mission, movement, and humanitarian impact.

This is a strategy-first leadership role, not primarily an operational one. You will:

  • Set and steward a national strategy for Global Aid
  • Build and lead a growing leadership ecosystem
  • Strengthen partnerships with churches, donors, NGOs, and GAiN Worldwide
  • Mobilise workers and volunteers into humanitarian mission pathways
  • Integrate Global Aid into the broader Power to Change movement strategy

You will work closely with the National Director and the emerging operational structure, including the developing COO function, to ensure execution aligns with strategy.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Provide national leadership across GAiN domains: medical missions, water initiatives, disaster response, and partnerships
  • Build, coach, and release leaders across multiple ministry streams
  • Strengthen international partnerships and in-country engagement
  • Champion collaboration across Power to Change strategies
  • Represent GAiN publicly to partners, churches, and supporters
Who We Are Looking For

This role requires a rare combination of spiritual maturity, strategic leadership, and missional courage.

You will likely bring:

  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience (ministry, NGO, or cross-cultural context)
  • A strong track record of developing leaders and building teams
  • Strategic capability—able to move from vision to aligned execution
  • Experience working across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • A deep commitment to evangelical theology and mission

Critically, you will be someone who:

  • Leads from a deep, abiding relationship with God
  • Thinks in terms of movements, not just programs
  • Builds unity across diverse teams and contexts
  • Is comfortable operating in ambiguity and growth environments
A Distinctive Feature of This Role

This is a mission-supported role.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Raise personal financial support to cover salary and ministry expenses
  • Partner with others to raise funds for GAiN’s humanitarian work

Power to Change provides training, coaching, and systems to support staff in building and sustaining a support team. This model is central to how we operate as a movement.

Why This Role Matters

GAiN is one of the most tangible expressions of the gospel in action within Campus Crusade. It opens doors in hard places, builds trust with communities, and creates pathways for long-term spiritual impact.

In Australia, GAiN is still relatively underdeveloped compared to its global footprint. This role represents an opportunity to:

  • Shape the national future of humanitarian mission
  • Build a visible and credible presence across Australia
  • Mobilise a new generation into faith-filled, practical mission
Organisational Context

You will serve within Power to Change Australia, working closely with:

  • The National Director (Geoff Folland)
  • The GAiN Board
  • A developing national team across missions, partnerships, and operations
  • GAiN Worldwide and global crisis/disaster response structures

The organisational model is intentionally evolving toward greater clarity, scalability, and collaboration across strategy and operations.
