Taringa Baptist Church (TBC) is prayerfully seeking an experienced Lead Pastor to continue to guide our congregation in a season of outreach, missional focus, and faithful ministry—within one of Brisbane’s most liveable and well-connected inner-city suburbs.
Located just minutes from the Brisbane CBD, Taringa sits at the crossroads of established neighbourhoods, major universities, excellent transport links, and a growing population of young professionals and families. TBC has a strong culture of worship, care, and service in Brisbane’s inner south-west. Today, we are a multicultural congregation of over 100 people, united by a love for Christ, a commitment to Scripture, and a desire to serve our local community with compassion and purpose. A key expression of this commitment is our English as a Second Language (ESL) ministry, which enables us to build relationships with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and offer practical support, connection, and Christian witness within our neighbourhood.
The Opportunity
This role will particularly suit a pastor who is motivated by shaping healthy culture, mentoring leaders, and discerning sustainable pathways for mission in an urban context.
As Lead Pastor, you will provide spiritual oversight, pastoral care, and strategic leadership, working collaboratively with the church council, ministry leaders and the congregation to respond to the opportunities of an inner-city setting.
We are seeking a leader who:
- Brings established preaching and teaching experience, offering biblically grounded, thoughtful, and pastorally wise ministry.
- Leads with spiritual maturity, humility, and emotional intelligence, modelling Christ-like character.
- Has experience guiding churches through seasons of transition or renewal, with patience and discernment.
- Works collaboratively with lay leaders, mentoring and empowering others in shared leadership.
- Thinks strategically about urban mission, including outreach to young families, professionals, and a diverse local population.
- Has a strong pastoral heart and enjoys relational ministry across generations and cultures.
