Looking for a Spirit-filled Youth Director to lead and grow the youth ministry at Winepress Church in Berwick....
This role is all about creating spaces where young people encounter Jesus, build strong friendships, and are discipled in their faith – both on Friday nights and throughout the week, including local schools ministry.
About the Role
You will:
- Lead Winepress Youth - developing engaging programs that reflect our values
- Develop Schools Ministry – creating pathways for students to connect into the church community
- Provide Pastoral Care for youth, volunteer leaders and parents
- Identify, recruit and develop youth and young adult leaders, building a strong, healthy team culture
- Ensure the ministry operates in line with ACC Safe Church practices and policies
About You
You are someone who:
- Loves Jesus and wants young people to know Him personally
- Is a mature Christian, actively involved in your local church community
- Leads with integrity, servant-heartedness and spiritual maturity
- Communicates clearly and can inspire and influence young people and leaders
- Builds strong relationships and works well with parents, volunteers and staff
- Is proactive, organised and able to set your own priorities and follow through
- Has a genuine passion for young people and their social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Skills:
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Good attention to detail and follow-through
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
- A heart to serve young people in the local community
Experience:
- Experience serving and/or working in a church environment
- Proven leadership of teams and ministries
- Hands-on experience working with youth
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Tertiary education in youth work, counselling or related field
- Certificate IV in Ministry (preferred)
- Sound understanding of safe ministry / child safety best practice
- Eligibility for (or current) Working With Children Check (VIC) and other relevant checks
