As our Payroll Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payments, compliance with legislation, and delivery of high-quality service to employees and stakeholders. You’ll provide leadership, guidance, and support to the payroll team, drive continuous improvement, and maintain strong internal controls. This is a full-time maximum term contract for 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review and approve payroll runs, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and company policies.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop payroll team members, allocating workload and monitoring performance.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for payroll enquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes, including process documentation and feedback.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in payroll, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, and superannuation requirements.
  • Experience with payroll systems (Chris21, UKG, and Workday). Chris21 is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and develop team members.
