The Laboratory Assistant position is pivotal in supporting our Science faculty and enriching students' educational experiences. Working directly under the Head of Science and collaborating with teaching staff, you will help create an engaging, safe, and inspiring environment for scientific exploration.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing resources for science lessons, maintaining laboratory equipment, and assisting in implementing safety protocols, ensuring that students can learn effectively and responsibly. Your initiative and attention to detail will enhance our science programs and foster a love for learning.

While previous experience in a science-related field or school laboratory context is beneficial, we are open to appointing individuals who may be less experienced but possess the right attributes and a readiness to be trained. Additionally, if you have skills or an interest in assisting with the Calderwood Farm (Agriculture), this could lead to more hours and responsibilities, making your role even more rewarding.
Hours for this position will range from 6 to 12 hours per week, to be negotiated with the successful candidate based on their experience and skill set. This role is set to commence in Term 1, 2026.
