Newtown Mission

A Parish Mission of the Uniting Church in Australia with multiple sites across the Inner West of Sydney. Newtown Mission is a community forming disciples of Jesus

In the Inner West for a rapidly changing world. We are engaged in a wide range of activities including emergency food and welfare support, regular Christian worship, affordable housing, a Creative Arts centre, and developing local community connections across Newtown, Camperdown, Surry Hills and Paddington.

The Role

The Newtown Pastor role is one of the key ministry positions within Newtown Mission. Working closely with the Senior Minister to develop a culture of discipleship grounded in the distinctives of Newtown Mission (growing faith, celebrating diversity, valuing creativity, embodying generosity, seeking justice). The Newtown Pastor will coordinate leadership training, pastoral care, and small groups across the life of our various communities.

Skills and Experience

• Qualification in Theology, Ministry or Mission
• Experience working in pastoral ministry
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team.
• An understanding of, and commitment to the work and life of the Uniting Church
